I also have the first book and love it.  I taught myself copperplate from that book.

Introductions / Hi! I'm Linda!
« on: September 20, 2018, 10:26:25 AM »
Hi,
I am Linda Humphries and I have been doing calligraphy since the 1980's.  I used to do Chancery Cursive, but in June, I decided if I was ever going to learn Copperplate, I better get started.  I got a few books, an oblique pen, a variety of nibs and I am on my way.  I wish I knew some local people who were interested so we could form a guild.  However I do not, so it is Youtube and books for me.  I am having lots of fun with it.  I got confused at first and had a difficult time changing from my old style to Copperplate, but I think I am on the road to success now.

What a great idea.  I have a silhouette.  I will have to try this!  Thanks for sharing.

Introductions / Hello from Linda!

Hello group,
I am heappy to be accepted into this group.  I have been doing calligraphy since 1980.  Chancery Cursive used to be my style, but recently (June), I have been trying to teach myself Copperplate.  I decided it was now or never since I am not getting any younger.  I am happy with my progress so far but I want to do flourishing.  I am not comfortable with that yet.  I am hoping this group will help me figure it out.
