Hello Everyone 
My name is Nina Brown from Farr West, Utah.  My hobby is graphic design for print, but I have always been obsessed with fonts and lettering too.  I injured my back in a car accident and cant physically do all the things I used to love, so learning calligraphy has been like yoga for me! I love it. I have only been practicing for about 4 months now. I am excited and eager to learn more and am so glad to run across the Flourishing Forum!

Way to turn a bum deal into something beautiful!! I love how you compared calligraphy to yoga--they are two of my favorite things, and I think because in both you're forced to slow down, focus on the present, and go at your own pace.

I think you're the closest person on the forum geographically to me, so that's exciting!! :) I'm in Boise, but we go to Utah quite a bit to see family in Ogden and Kaysville. Maybe someday we'll meet!

Same here. Yoga and calligraphy are effective stress relievers for me. :)

A very warm welcome Nina! I am so happy to hear that calligraphy has been like yoga for you...I find it very meditative. It has helped me improve my focus stamina :)
