LOL! I Love it! I'm not sure what is so crazy about this storm that it is a "potentially killer storm" as the news put it last night. We used to get 1 to 2 feet of snow all the time in Maine. We called it Wednesday.  ;D

Haha, Ellen! Can't wait to see your totals. We finally got our hands on a shovel. Every hardware store I went to in DC and VA were sold out earlier this week. Stay warm and safe!

It's a killer storm because Virginians come unglued when it snows. The local sheriff's office posted these about three hours after it started snowing.   :o

Went shopping on Wednesday and the only milk they had was fat free!  Was considering doing some shoveling tonight, but with high winds tomorrow, why bother?

@Janice-
As our man in DC, you are charged with covering the Dupont Circle snowball fight on Sunday.  #thewinterawakens

Now that's progress!   ;D

Susan, that reminds me of when I lived in San Diego and the 15 minutes it rained each year -- people lost their minds!  ;D  Hope people are staying off the roads.

This pretty much says it all.  ;)

Snow in the south looks the same as snow in the south of England!
Seen reports of the US snow on the news.... would love a little here.

OK, I take back what I said... looks to be a pretty treacherous storm.  :-[

That Snow in the South photo was from our storm two years ago in North Carolina. My normal 20 min commute on surface roads took me three hours.

Today I'm in Atlanta. The Aquarium had an hour delay this morning because of the "weather emergency."

I guess they had to allow the employees time to wipe their windshields.  ;D

What's been bad about the storm here in Virginia is the winds and drifting snow. This morning the snow was half way up my thighs and I couldn't tell where my driveway ended and the road began. Some local farmers have plowed a bit so now I can at least see that the road exists. I had to shovel a spot in the backyard for the dogs because they refused to squat when the snow was over their heads. Can't really blame them.  :P
