Thank you, Victoria! I love the little guy on the envelope. (trying to be discreet) :)

Thank you! It turned out a lot better than I thought it would ;D. I really loved the passage you chose, and your calligraphy is amazing :)

I've received 2/3 letters from List 2! Thank you so much Dyan and Janice, they're beautiful!!! :)

For everyone in List 2, I just mailed mine today! :)

I meant to ask this sooner but would a letter a character in a book receives qualify?
I was wondering about this too, but I think it would be ok since it's still a letter. I'm planning on using a letter from Harry Potter :D

Hi everyone!

I really like uncial script and would like to start learning it, but I don't know where to begin. I don't know much about broad edge pen calligraphy, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out  :)
Is there a certain style I should start with first, and then move on to uncial?
What supplies do I need?
Does it make a difference if you use parallel pens, or broad edge nibs?
Is there any specific books I should use to learn, or can I just use alphabets I find online?
If anyone has any tips or recommendations for me please let me know!

Thanks,
Victoria

Introductions / Hello!

Hi everyone!

My name is Victoria, and I'm a high school student. I've always like to write in cursive, and in some of my classes at the beginning of this year I started writing my notes in cursive in order to keep from falling asleep ;D I searched online to see if there were any tips or techniques for writing in cursive faster while keeping the quality of my writing the same. I didn't find much to help me, but I did stumble across information on calligraphy!

Ever since then I have had a lot of fun learning modern and brush calligraphy! I want to continue with those, but now I also want to start learning the traditional styles of calligraphy.

I'm really excited to be a part of this forum, and I hope to learn a lot! :)
