Hi Amanda

I'm Natalie and I'm in Cairns Qld.  Not entirely easy to get bits and pieces here either but I'm guessing I'm not nearly as remote as you.  We do have a couple of art stores and office works!  To be honest I've not been able to get into things quite as much as I wanted to when I started here (for a mixture of reasons) but there is definitely an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge here as well as an amazingly generous and friendly bunch of people.   Hopefully others will be able to help you out with where to purchase etc.  as I haven't had too much experience with that yet....  Hope you learning goes well!!

Such beautiful work!  I too love letterpress.  I agree with you Bianca, letterpress and calligraphy combined.......  so lovely.  I am curious though (and hopefully it is not inappropriate to ask), how do you create this work with your own original writing/calligraphy?  Originally letterpress was all individual letters, do you have these specially made somehow?

Moyà is absolutely right!  August and September is really the most wonderful time here. I tell everyone to come and visit at that time of year!  Summer is not always lovely with the heat, the humidity and the stingers.  The beaches have actually been closed quite a bit already this year due to stingers but stinger season generally finishes around April (although that varies a little too).

Thanks Andrew for the time info!  Happy to be ahead of my time. 

The winters are why everyone stays up here Moyà,  I'm not surprised you miss them.  When were you last here?

Hi there

I'm Natalie and I'm from the tropical far north of Queensland in Australia.   I actually joined the forum at the end of last year but a mixture of nerves and work has meant that I have not said hello until now!  Sorry!  I am very new to this whole calligraphy thing and I am absolutely in awe of the wonderfully talented people here.

Also possibly not the place to ask this but the time is all wrong when I log in. It's already Valentine's Day here but the system says it's still Feb 13. Not sure how I should change this.... 

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all and getting my lettering on!
