Who would have thunk?  Now 47 cents for first class.  No so good for people the large collections of forever stamps.

Don't worry, it will come back up again. Buy more stamps now. I think the risk of it going down again is extremely low. They're being forced to reduce it through some arcane deal they cut when they raised it by a lot recently. The deal was something like as soon as they raised a certain amount they would lower it again. Well, they hit it sooner than they thought, and now they have to lower it even though they could really use the revenue.

Go figure. It will go up again.

I was super excited knowing that US stamp prices were going to go down and practically had the date (of the first day of the decrease) seared into my memory. 2 cents for first class stamps doesn't seem like a big decrease (still excited though) but it's 5 cents less for international stamps. I bought 60 more stamps for my collection...so far...  ;D
