Madarasz Script
« on: March 18, 2014, 06:35:23 AM »
This is written in the style which Louis Madarasz called "Madarasz Script" At the time, this was a modern combination of certain factors from Copperplate and Spencerian whilst being neither. It was written with a Hunt 101 nib in a Unique Oblique holder.

I quite like it. My favorite style is combing Spencerian and Copperplate. I find it makes a nice, flowing script with more pizzazz than either or by themselves.
Warm Regards,

Hye Ken :)
May i know the slant of Madarasz script

It's 47 degrees from the horizontal compared to 52 degrees for Spencerian and 55 degrees for Copperplate.

Thank you, all.

If it's of any interest, I've created a full exemplar of the alphabet, and posted it here.

Beautiful as always Ken!  May I ask how you digitize your calligraphy like that?  Thanks!

I scan the finished writing, move the file to Photobucket and then *upload to Flourish Forum.

*I never know if it's 'upload' or 'download'  :-\

My computer knowledge is pretty basic!  :-[

I like it.  I haven't ever been able to do Spencerian, always put too many heavy downstrokes
