@Erica McPhee   What beautiful penwork on your 2016 card. It's very detailed and I'm wondering if you did all your cards by hand or had the card printed?

Thanks @lizabetht ! I did four versions, chose the best one and then had it engraved!

I laughed because I posted back then that I was so far behind and would catch up in 2017. Ha, not only did I not catch up in 2017, I didn't even get a card made this year. :-(

Lovely work @bleair !
Warm Regards,

@bleair I love your little white wreath in the corner!

Thank you.  Though I can't take credit for that, that was my wife.  I will mention that we both learned that style from Heather Held and personally I got the greatest enjoyment and also gain out of her class.... She teaches several times throughout the year and I personally think her teaching style and classes are fantastic

Here's both my personal card (done on an iPad Pro) and my calligra-greeting (all by hand).

Everyone's work is so beautiful! Calligraphy holiday cards are the best!

@Erica McPhee Yes, I made them - not printed.  It was HARD. hahaha!  First time making my cards from scratch.  I ran into so many little problems but I learned so much that way.  The dark red paper was coated with something.  Didn't realize it until I tried to paint on it and then again, when I tried to erase guidelines, it kind of smeared the coating on the paper - didn't look nice.  So, I started using the laser level for a line - which I had never done before.

Here's a card of mine from a few years ago. It's meant to represent a Christmas tree  :-\

What is this, Yule in August?!  Actually, it's been on my list to be working on this year's card for the last two months.... no comment on how successful I've been.  I love seeing what other folks do, it's really nice inspiration!

I really enjoy designing cards and would love to sell them one day, too.  Here are my last two designs.  I don't always incorporate calligraphy into the card itself, but I've been enjoying utilizing it for the envelopes.  Sorry about the poor lighting and generally fuzzy photos.

@evad and @Erica McPhee - Thank you for your kind words!  They mean a lot to me.  I dearly enjoy making these cards and, selfishly, just hope the recipients enjoy them at least half so much as I did in drawing them.   :P

So, I haven't been on here for quite a while, but a friend encouraged me to re-log on. Came across this post and decided to share my Holiday Greeting from last year (C'mas in July?)   ;D

Used a folded pen and india ink.
