Hi all!

After getting the go ahead from Erica here goes:

I started the hashtag #calligrascape on Instagram some time ago to categorize the kind of photos I was taking. These photos were when I would hold a piece of calligraphy in front of a landscape. I then found out that other people were doing this. After some time, I created the Instagram: www.instagram.com/calligrascape/ to showcase peoples calligraphy and countries all around the world. More recently, I have been mapping them on a website I threw together here: www.calligrascape.com/. For each Instagram post, People can then send high quality photos  to me (via [email protected]) to post on the website, with a link or two to their site/instagram/whathaveyou.

I see it as a giant project that everyone around the world can contribute to, no matter the skill level. I love connecting people all around the world sharing the places they have been to and what they have written. So when you go on a vacation, a hike, or even take your dog for a scenic walk, just bring your lettering!

I'd love to feature your work, so join me using the hashtag if you have a calligraphy + landscape you'd like added to the website/instagram. I feature the best ones on Instagram, and feature as many as I can on my website!

Letter Pixels / Online Shops

Hi all,

I am not sure this is the proper category for this post but anyways here it is.

I recently opened a redbubble account for some canvas prints. I get a lower percentage of the price, but I like how I don't have to worry about shipping or printing. It's going decent so far, there are just so many options out there for online shops.

What does everyone use for their online shop? What is your experience with it? I'd love a list of good shops to try and put my art on it.

Introductions / Hello from Toronto!

Hello everyone!

I'm Richard, I am an electrical engineering student from Toronto who picked up the written art of calligraphy by myself a couple years ago. I wish I knew about this site back then as that really would have helped a lot.

I love black letter, and the ability to create my own Fraktur styles (using pilot parallels), but recently picked up brush pen. I was just gifted a oblique dip pen and some walnut ink crystals and I know NOTHING about them. It's like I'm back at square one again! I knew that this was the place to go and learn from others, but never gave it a try. So here I am!
