On a road back to calligraphy
« on: August 31, 2020, 03:02:43 PM »
Hi all,
Happy to have the opportunity to connect with 'my tribe' online.
I was an avid novice calligrapher *last decade* (gasp - that's a long time ago!!).
Went into a period of career change and several large intercontinental moves and for some reason just didn't have the patience or mental space for calligraphy anymore during these years.
However, I did already have faith it would come back to my some day, and am pleased to report I have been feeling the call to my pen again. I'm a few months back into active practice, am thoroughly enjoying reconnecting with this long lost side of myself :)

Looking forward to connecting with you and discussing some of the interesting sides of this craft.

That’s wonderful that you have found your way back to calligraphy and are enjoying it again. There were stretches of time where it took a back burner for me throughout the years. But I always come back. Welcome to Flourish!  ;D
Warm Regards,

@Ngaire_W  I find time is the challenge for calligraphy, especially with a 3 month old little lad, but it does utterly relax the mind. We don’t get enough brain downtime in today’s busy lifestyle. Every little bit helps towards maintaining sanity (although please don’t look towards me as a role model in that respect).

Hi Ngaire,
Welcome back to calligraphy!
I resonate with your share. Some decades ago...I wrote invites with my fountian pen and loved it. It’s great to find Calligraphy now, because the resources are abundant and the community feels supportive and inviting. There are so many amazing calligraphers out there.
Glad you are here.
