Thank goodness Joi did so much Pearl-Ex grunt work for us! I love that stuff - when it does work! But I do not have the patience to use it on its own.

@JanisTX have you tried mixing pearlex in with metallic gouache? I use it with Royal Talens metallic gouaches (I don’t use any of there color gouaches, only metallic, but I find the golds of other gouaches to be unattractive) and the pearlex brightens up the gouache and the gouache helps with the flow and prevents the PearlEx particles from sinking quickly. This is also how I got the copper PearlEx to work. Terrible on its own, fabulous mixed with a copper gouache.

@AnasaziWrites you and I had a chat about vintage Gillott 170s a while back - now THAT is a delicate nib! I love it so much and I never use it. But yes, the vintage 303s are magnificent.
@Vintage_BE I am cleaning out my nib stash and have decided I’ll never use the blue/new 303s that I’ve had for ages. I’m happy to mail them to you if you PM me your address. It’ll spare me the discomfort of throwing them out.

Erica, I did plant a climbing hydrangea in the fall - we’ll see how it goes! I’m so thrilled for you that you have all those blooms - what a joy to go outside and see all that life.
