Garima,

I'm so sorry that my letter did not arrive. I had send it before the dead line. I do have a photo of the ones I did. Yours' is to the far right.

I would be really sad and discouraged too if I didn't receive letters. I want you to know your NSEW is so lovely and intricate!  Thank you for it.

Thank you so much for letting me know, and hopefully this doesn't keep you from being part of another exchange.

(I'm not quiet sure how to attach the picture so I think this is a hyperlink :-\ Let me know if it doesn't work and I'll try again)

I am still working on mine!  :-[  The box I diligently prepared with all my pens and nibs was carefully put somewhere during the move ... and now I can't find it!  :o But my studio is in shambles so I know it will turn up. It's the last room to be unpacked (naturally) but it's on the agenda for this weekend. I have one pen and one nib so I'm working on a draft right now and will hopefully finish it soon! So, so sorry. I'm in the weeds.  :(

I so often put things in very safe places that I can't even find them ;D Hope you get settled soon so you can start enjoying your home. :)

YAY Micheal!!! Thanks for what you do here. I'm especially thankful, because you were the first letter I received in my very first exchange. And you had such kind encouragement for me as I was just starting calligraphy.   I always enjoy your quick wit and sense of humor around here too.  Can't wait to see more. :D

I've been eyeing this one for a while. Excited, but nervous at the same time.

YES! YES! YES!  ;D Ken!!!! Thank you so much for doing this. This is so wonderful to see the differences in one place. I'm so thankful to be part of a community where people are so willing to share their skill and knowledge. You've definitely peeked my interest in different scripts. This is just the push I need to not just get my toes wet, but start learning and wanting to study more; to get in the water just a bit deeper.  :) Thank you again!!!!

Brush Calligraphy / Re: Brush Letter, where to start?

So I had a few items on my Christmas wish list and I'm excited to say I received Brush Lettering by Marilyn Reaves& Eliza Schulte! ;D And already it's helped with my brush strokes.
Thanks Tiffany & Micheal for the awesome suggestion!

I recommend this sampler set from JetPens.com http://www.jetpens.com/JetPens-Brush-Pen-Sampler/pd/12513
I started with brush calligraphy and progressed to modern calligraphy.
I found the Super Fine Zebra to be my favorite.
Good luck!
Not sure if you have a Daiso store in the state you live in but their Zebra brush pens are only $1.50! great to practice with!!! The stiffer pen makes learning for beginners very easy.
Thanks for the suggestions. I wish I had an art supply store near by, so the internet will have to do for me.  Now all I have to do is find some free time.  ;)

This is GENIUS!!! Thanks so much for sharing. Now I just need to find our laser level.  ;)

Tools & Supplies / Re: Recommendations for fun-colored inks
« on: December 26, 2015, 07:15:56 PM »
I have some of the Dr.Ph Martin's India Ink colors. I like how it has variations in shades as you write. I do find it to be somewhat thin and does not work well with all my nibs. But they are fun. I've really enjoyed Dr. Ph Martin's Iridescent nickel (a lot!). I sometime use my water colors to write with too, it does take a bit longer then just with ink cause I have to apply with a brush. Hope you find some fun stuff :)
