Beautiful! I love the alternate spelling, too.

This is my favorite word so far.  :)

Beautiful L, @AnasaziWrites -- Kells and Lindisfarne get all the attention, but Durrow is a huge favorite of mine.  You've got the spacing of those Insular half-uncials really on point.  It's always a temptation to space them out more (like Caroline minuscules).  But they liked for those flags to touch their neighbors, and they didn't always bother with spaces between the words either.  If you want to go the full medieval, try the æ ligature in "Færie" (which is how Spenser spells it in his long poem, "The Faerie Queene" - which I happen to have been teaching this morning).  Medieval scribes would almost always use the ligature with those letters next to each other (I drew one next to the copperplate to show how nicely they nestle together).

What a delicate rendition, @Erica McPhee - I can always count on you to give me more flourishing goals.

@Zivio - are you back?  your bad dog was very good with a very good dog to go with it!  Glad you liked all our boogers!

And here, amid so much beauty, I give you.... shrimp.

Nice play of transparency and opacity to the shrimp’s body.

lol, @AnasaziWrites - I really wanted to draw something beautiful and etherial like your lovely illustration, but at the end of the day, all I could really manage was a tiny shrimp.  Still -- it goes to show that most any little doodle looks better if you put a crisp circular frame around it.

Didn’t put much time into this today, but it is a new F for me which was what I’d hoped to explore with Inktober. Alternative spelling.

Home just one more day, then traveling again and returning Nov 2.  Likely you’ll not see much more from me this month.

Happy my ham-handed rendition was close enough for you to recognize as a la Durrow. Like the ligature.

I rather like the shrimp.
And I love your progress with the copperplate.
