Introductions / Hello from Wisconsin!

Hi there! I am so excited to virtually mingle with like-minded folks! My first introduction to Calligraphy was when I was very young, perhaps in 1st or 2nd grade and found my mom's Calligraphy markers. I remember attempting to copy the lettering from her book, but failing miserably and left it at that. Until several years ago, I saw a starter kit and bought it. Then quickly became frustrated with a skipping and scratchy nib, spilling ink, not using lined sheets etc. I just simply didn't know better. Then about 6 months or so ago, I came across that kit lurking in my basement and was determined to give it a go.
Fast forward to today where I have an oblique nib holder (which I LOVE using) a Nikko G nib (Also love using) and have learned it's best not to cry over spilled ink. I love Spencerian script and would love to master that. Not exactly sure where to start, but I started with a modern calligraphy book. At least that's somewhere.
I don't get to practice every day in my busy life, though I'd love to. But I make sure to at least once a week. I really enjoy it. I'm terrible at flourishing, so at this point just mastering the alphabet. Thanks for having me!
