I am a hobbyist and I don’t have any formal training in calligraphy. I first started using a dip pen for drawing, then I tried writing greeting card messages with it. Instead of calling it “calligraphy”, I would say it’s just my own writing done with a dip pen. And now I’m here to learn from the basics as a beginner.

Welcome! We have some beginner tutorials in the Pointed Pen Nirvana section that might be helpful to you. You don’t have to use any special nib to get started if you are just trying to do monoline writing.
