Trade Card
« on: April 14, 2022, 05:56:43 PM »
I recently purchased this trade card on eBay from the Green Bay Business College, circa 1880-1886, as the Wikipedia article suggests. Thought you might like to see it.
Anyone think the hairlines are too thin?

You had me at "Green Bay" (my birthplace, but grew up in Sacramento, CA) and I stayed for the Spencerian!   ;D

Gorgeous writing and history -- thank you for sharing your find with us!

I couldn’t resist and gave the second one a try. Could use a little work but it’s fun to try it. I am just in awe at how fine their hairlines are and the boldness of their shade.

P.S. I particularly liked the curve on the top part of the r in Dr. It gives a nice character.

Ah, my friend, that "r" is actually an "e" as in DePere, Wisconsin, near Green Bay.
Lovely work, though.
