Beautiful work as always.
Are you starting your capitals E and C at the bottom or top? If top, are you using a flourishing stroke (that is, making the shade while moving the pen away from you)?

Thanks Mike,

Simple answer - I always turn the paper so that the nib is pointing at the shaded downstroke. In this case I started both letters at the bottom having rotated the paper anti-clockwise.This can somtimes be very difficult to visualise and I sometimes write the letter in pencil first and the over in ink.
