Haha sumi ink seems to go one way or the other for people. O love sumi ink and ironically, I enjoy the smell!

Moon palace sumi is the ticket. Straight out of the bottle it preforms well or you can add water. Ive tried a couple versions of the yasutomo and didnt really care for either :/

Recently tried walnut ink and... well lets just say my loyalty to sumi is a little jepordized at the moment  :P
Yeah I am loving the Walnut...

I downloaded them the other night...  :)

I am new to the journey as well... I also came from Fountain Pens and Journaling...

I am just getting started on this path after getting into fountain pens and journaling for my mental health in 2016... I am waiting on my Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy book... I already have the second book ( Copperplate/italics ) it came early... Also waiting on dinky dips and gum arabic so I can adjust my inks as needed...

While I decided on Copperplate for my 'Fancy' style over Spencerian because I could fine more info on Copperplate for my plate... I am going to do some Palmer too as a more basic style... But ignoring the focus on speed... I even got a bunch of vintage palmer #5 nibs to try out.. Along side what will be either my Pilot Falcon EF or my Pilot V- point EF... Course my Pilot metro EF gives me an even finer line...

I am just starting to learn Copperplate Style. I have been a Big Fountain Pen user for several years which is what got me thinking about Palmers/Business styles as well as looking at Spencerian. I decided to settle on Copperplate as the style to focus on.
