Prasad, as I am quite new, thank you for compiling all this... and for the artists who worked on the original posts.  Thank you for your generosity sharing your skill and knowledge.  This beginning calligrapher appreciates it very much!

I am a rank beginner (1 class under my belt), so this is so interesting and revealing!   I am just so happy I've discovered this forum and all you wonderful generous instructors.  I look forward to exploring this site and practicing what you teach!  Thank you!

Okay, this was fun, to unearth old lettering books.  It reminds me that I have longed to do this FOREVER.   It looks like I used one of them as a straightedge for some high school craft project.  No respect. 😂.

Thank you so very much!  I am so happy I found this forum!  I'll dig out those oooold dust-covered books and post a photo... not that I learned anything from them.  I was so young when I got them, I didn't have the patience to practice practice practice.  (Or even practice. LOL).  I just thought I could copy the letters and when that didn't look so hot, I gave up.  But here I am, some years later, a brand new calligrapher.  For real, this time!  I had my first lesson earlier this month.  ( Thank you, Bianca ). Once I have something written, I'll post my first - likely to be embarrassing - thing.

First I need to find non-snagging paper, like the Rhodia pad Bianca provided.  Then, practice the lower case.  I still need a lesson on capitals, which look so FUN!

... and to you and yours.  I'll remember this Thanksgiving weekend fondly.  I'd just registered at the Flourish Forum, and spent the entire time sneaking off to excitedly check to see if my introductory post was accepted. 😁😁  and delving deep into the forum happily exploring.

Beautiful sign.  I'm thankful I discovered the Flourish Forum!  What an interesting, nice, fun collection of artists!   You all inspire me to further my calligraphy education.

Oh W.O.W.   I can't wait!  I just ordered every issue available (1-4) of what portends to be THE most beautiful magazine!   I may be a fledgling calligrapher, but I hope to make up for lost time.  And your magazine will be next to me to offer lovely inspiration.   Erica, you are a marvel and a dynamo, it's clear!  And I'm sure I don't know the half of it.  Thank you for all you do to benefit this art form.

I've never been on a forum of any type, but I am pretty thrilled to be here.   I've adored calligraphy since I was a kid.  I have a small collection of Scripto and "pretty writing" books that I admired, yet never learned from.  Two weeks ago I took my first calligraphy course (Bianca Mascorro) and just loved it.  I feel somehow more complete.  I look forward to furthering my education.  And the more I learn, the more I admire those people truly skilled in it.
