The mall has a Papersource?!!! Oh man, I have got to figure out how to get there!

We talked about traveling with supplies at our guild meeting last week. Some people have had ink explode in their checked luggage. Someone else said she wraps the ink covers with tape and then puts them inside a small plastic box with a locking lid she bought at Walmart and then carries it on.

Husband and I had a long talk over the weekend about me going to IAMPETH and we decided I should go! I went on this morning to register - sold out! 

I will take it as a sign I wasn't supposed to go but put my name on the waitlist anyway. I'm a terrible traveler!

Wow. I had no idea. Well then. I guess maybe we could be IAMPETH groupies....hanging over the "fence?" I had been mulling it over since I live about four hours away, but figured I had time to decide.

ok so my husband and i had a similar talk this morning.  i was reading emails and said out loud that IAMPETH was sold out.  and he said "did you register?" and i was like uuum no remember we couldn't figure the child care out?!  and he of course said, oh you should go we will figure it out...yeah, after it's already sold out! argh!
so i'm waitlisted...maybe the family can vacation in Indy

Definitely! Lots of things can happen from now till August.. life gets in the way and people have to drop out. So please get on the waiting list

I wish we had something like IAMPETH in the UK. I have read blog posts from those who have been and it looks like such a huge fun event. There is a CLAS festival in August, but it seems to have more of a bias towards broad edged pen lettering... although Massimo Polello is running a workshop... again the emphasis is on working with flat brush work.
I do belong to the Copperplate Special Interest Group in the UK and we exchange envelopes... this has been great, but it definitely feels like copperplate is a niche interest in the UK!

One of these years I will save up for the flights!

And maybe one day I'll see some of you guys at our Summer School In Winter ... can I tempt you? It is a much smaller event but it's so wonderful. More of a school than a conference.  This year the tutors are: Brody Neuenschwander, Laurent Pflughaupt, Don Marsh, Olive Bull, Vincent Jeannerot, and Coralee Barker.

Melbourne in winter is very beautiful ... wet and rainy, but sparkly!

Ok, people, what happened with the childcare subject?  If we're bringing kids I'll bring the grandbaby and we can make a slumber party of it. 
I'm so envious I can't go.  I'm judge of elections in my district and it was like brain surgery trying to figure out daycare for that day - and BTW I've done brain surgery and it doesn't take that long!!!  I'm so sad I can't go.

daisy - LOL!  well if i get off the waitlist i'm thinking that it will be a 3 day little vacay for the family.  the hubs will be with our 2 kids exploring Indy while i am getting my pointed pen on!  at least that's how it will go in my head

I had IAMPETH in my year goals for 2014 and I had no idea it sold out so fast! As soon as it was on the website it was full. I was waiting to join because I thought it would be easier to do it all in one fell swoop.

Not so much. I'm número 20 on the waitlist...that's a heck of a lot of people to get through. Maybe there will be some good workshops I can find through the forum...I just want to learn learn learn, and hang out with other letter nerds of course!
