Introductions / Greetings from Washington!

Hello! My name is Nicci and I'm from Burlington, WA (an hour north of Seattle) and I came across the Flourish Forum as I stumbled my way through information on calligraphy. I am a maternity, birth, and newborn photographer that is taking some time off for health reasons. When I was young, my mother played with calligraphy and I was always wanting to try my hand at it. I'm a big girl now, so I am waiting on my first order from Paper & Ink arts! I have spent the last few days working on my basic penmanship while I await my supplies.
My only concern is I am a right hander who usually has my paper at a 90 turn. I always have the long edge up against my chest. Is this going to prove to be an issue?
