Thank you @AnasaziWrites Mike and @ash0kgiri Ashok! After creating the design (lost track of how many hours - probably close to 12), I did 4 versions. Each version took between 3 to 4 hours. I ended up using the 3rd version, then they were engraved.  ;D I was surprised I actually made it through all 4 without any mistakes.  ;D
Warm Regards,

Wowza, such beautiful work. Thank you for sharing. (I've saved several of these to study later on!)
My wife and I did simple place cards and a menu - just for fun for our family's meal

how much fun is that @bleair? Too cool! Broad pen is my 2017 challenge! I'm a tad intimidated....by both the time life might not give me and the act of learning that is required....

@Starlee I thought I would never love broad pen the way I do pointed. But boy oh boy do I love it! Jump in! It is the same and different, more beautiful in many ways. More frustrating in many more. But very very satisfying when you get the flow. Enjoy!

Starlee, I think you'll enjoy broad-edged scripts.  If you want a gentle learning ramp may I suggest one of the many italic variations? I personally found that because you're in effect printing out each letter the forms are easier to pick up.
There are many exemplars out there.. these are nice (in my opinion)

Of course there are many more exciting and interesting broad edge scripts (like textura and other black letter variations, and uncial, and gothic italic and and and :) ).

Good luck

This was the first Christmas I felt capable of producing a decent card.  It's something I've wanted to do for a long time.  A class from Phyllis Macaluso helped me a great deal.

@Terasleen I admire the way your wrote the word "Christmas".  I think it's a hard word to write and I struggled with it.  You found an innovative way to cross the "t".
