I cut a very thin strip either from the top, bottom or sides (depending on the design that has been done on the envelope) with scissors after I've tapped it on the desktop (about 20 times!!) so I don't cut anything inside

I'm so sorry List 6, but I'm gonna be pretty late with this one... in fact I may be 2-3 weeks late! There's been some craziness in my life lately (unforeseen when I signed up for this exchange) and I won't be able to get to it till May.. but I promise the wait will be worth it! Sorry!

I've just noticed this thread (thanks KathySaunders)

My problem is that I spend too much time on the internet 'studying' calligraphy and "looking" at other peoples work, when I really should be practicing my own!! Then I get envious of all the lovely work other people produce and then a feeling of guilt for not doing enough!!

Got loads more confessions but I'll start with "My name is Elayne and I'm a looker" (ahmm not sure that sounds very good!!) 

Anyway, hopefully this year I can change it with a new year resolution: "Less time looking and more time doing"

What beautiful stamps...makes me soooo jealous!!

I can only get really crapping ones here at my post office (which are printed out there and then). 

Have asked for nicer ones but been told I would have to order complete sheets and still wouldn't be able to choose!!

Just putting in a word for Gimp and Inkscape.  The Gimp site doesn't seem to be loading at the moment (wouldn't you know it?), but no doubt it'll be back soon.  Here is an alternative download site for Windows.  They are free open source equivalents of Photoshop and Illustrator respectively, and available for Windows, MacOS and proper operating systems Linux/Unix/BSD.
