Tools & Supplies / Re: Vintage Soviet Nibs?

I can't recommend it. They was really horrible.
Everything created with such nibs was done "not because of but in spite of".
The main advantage of soviet industry: it did everything bad, but firmly. Real soviet nibs can clog the cattle, but do not write

My respect.
Calligraphy is some kind of swordsmanship too!

Is his work considered to be a modern calligraphy, modern interpretation of Italics?
I really don't know. It's USSR, XX century, but old classic school.
And look at books of Villu Toots.

Oh, that's original — Rainer Maria Rilke.

THE KNIGHT

The Knight rides forth in coat of mail
Into the roar of the world.
And here is Life: the vines in the vale
And friend and foe, and the feast in the hall,
And May and the maid, and the glen and the grail;
God's flags afloat on every wall
In a thousand streets unfurled.

Beneath the armour of the Knight
Behind the chain's black links
Death crouches and thinks and thinks:
"When will the sword's blade sharp and bright
Forth from the scabbard spring
And cut the network of the cloak
Enmeshing me ring on ring—
When will the foe's delivering stroke
Set me free
To dance
And sing"

Broad Edge Pen Calligraphy / Cyrillic chancery cursive

Dear Colleagues! Please appreciate my attempt to recreate the cyrillic italics. The idea lies in creating some kind of everyday handwriting. I was guided by the classic and modern examples.
I'm asking for the severe critics.

Tools & Supplies / Re: Zebra G Help
« on: February 07, 2016, 03:18:07 PM »
I bought a few Zebra G nibs last week, and was faced with the same problem: a coating that does not want to wear off.
I tried to use soap, tooth powder, acetone, saliva. Nothing helped.
In the end I got angry and decided to resort to drastic measures: pure alcohol, fire, and after that - baking soda. After this ink were distributed uniformly over the surface and no longer blots. Hooray!
