My mother gave me a Wisdom Panel Dog DNA test kit for Christmas this year.  I finally sent it off yesterday!  We should hear back in 2 - 3 weeks.

I'm super interested in what we'll find out about sweet Buddy!

Has anyone tried a test like this before for their pet?

My daughter's MIL did this last year.  She found a dog on the street and kept posting on FB for the owner.  She finally decided to keep it but it was making her crazy not to know.  She was super surprised and excited to find out the races of her dog that looks like a Yorkie.  It only had like 10% Yorkie in him.  I think he had like 5 different dog genes.

We were told corgi...get ready for this...collie mix when we adopted him.  I don't see the collie.  I love corgis too Jackmo!!!

Our guess is Jack Russell and either Basset Hound or Corgi - Bud's a low rider for sure!

He's got the beagle noggin shape though...I can't wait to find out!

He's adorable, that's for sure! My brother and his wife did this for 2 of their dogs. It was enlightening -- the dog they thought had a lot of coon hound turned out to be mostly American Field Lab. We have one I'd like to try it on -- she looks like a little fox and we often get asked if she's part coyote. The pound said she was Australian Kelpie (rumored to have dingo blood), but I'm not so sure...  It would be interesting to find out if there is something wild in there!
