Hi from Orlando!
« on: May 28, 2019, 12:16:10 PM »
Hi Flourish Forum!  I am so glad I found this awesome community.   My name is Miriel and I am from Orlando.

I've always wanted to learn calligraphy, specifically copperplate and modern.  Finally bit the bullet and got some supplies.  I feel like I am starting to learn to write all over again.  ;D

Yes, it is a different process than traditional handwriting.

I am part of the Orlando guild so hopefully we will meet in person some day. I come over from time to time for workshops.  :)

Welcome!
Warm Regards,

Hi, Miriel, and welcome!

Hope you are having fun with your calligraphy and enjoying this site--I've loved looking up information in the archives.

Thanks everyone!   It's so fun to write with dip pens and the tutorials on this forum are very helpful.

I have to work extra hard on keeping the widths of the letters uniform.  Not quite sure how thin or fat they should be so my work feels uneven.
