2021 Exchanges / Re: Beacon of Light Exchange Sign Ups are Now Closed.
« on: April 25, 2021, 02:15:15 PM »
Hi Everyone,
So far I have received them from the following people: Michael and Nicole. I am hopeful the rest will come. Our mail still continues to be wonky in PA. Reach to me if you don't receive yours from me...happy to send a duplicate.  Judy

Hi Everyone,
My exchange envelopes have been finished for a couple of days.
The snowstorm is preventing me from getting to the post office: we haven't had mail delivery in three days now. I am sure that others are experiencing similar conditions in the U.S.

I will mail them out as soon as I can.
Stay warm, safe and healthy.

HI Everyone,
We had three days last week when we did not receive any mail...we had local flooding. Our mail delivery has been spotty at best all summer. I will let you know when I receive your written treasures.
Be Well,
Judy

Did anyone receive mine yet?

Show & Tell / Re: My 2019 Holiday Card
« on: January 01, 2020, 05:52:47 PM »

Thank you for posting the process for your Holiday card. I was wondering if you used a ScanNCut...and now I know you didn't. It was wonderful to see all of the talented work people in the exchange this time around. Everyone is so generous with their artwork and help...I am so grateful to have found this group.
With my first year of hand lettering under my belt, I can only get better.
Santa brought lots of fun new supplies: nibs, inks and a wonderful super thin light box.
Looking forward to practicing lots of 0's in 2020.

Coffee & Nib-bles / Re: Hilarious Ink Spill Question
« on: November 02, 2019, 10:41:51 PM »
I don’t have the delight of an accidental ink tattoo; mine is a small broken off piece of pencil lead in my in the palm of my hand from dropping a supremely sharp pencil and trying to catch it. It’s been there for decades.   Sigh.   I guess I’ll ask my dermatologist the next time I see her how often does she see pen & ink mishaps.  You could always have it removed like a mole; with a quick shot and an excision.  Good luck!

My most exciting purchase might not seem exciting at all to you but here it is anyway: it has been to purchase calligraphy books secondhand.
I am amazed that I am able to have an instant library for very little money...

The other fun purchase is nibs with cages. I am thrilled to be able to practice flourishes and not run out of ink mid-flourish.

Sometimes excitement comes in small packages!

Good luck with the new house and have fun setting up your lettering space.

Spencerian Script / Re: Writing Small
« on: October 24, 2019, 12:14:44 PM »
Your small writing is amazing. I thank you for your amazing script on the Halloween exchange.
I wish the list had been updated before you sent out your card (early). Erica had to make some changes on the list so my name was incorrect but the script was stunning. Thanks again.

This looks like a portable option for those who are interested in practice on the go.
Thank you for the post.
