Title: It sets Spencerian apart
Post by: Ken Fraser on May 23, 2014, 09:53:40 AM
One aspect of Spencerian handwriting which sets it apart from others, is the flexibility in acceptable inter-letter spacing.
Provided the spacing remains consistent throughout a piece of writing, almost anything goes, from fairly tight Italic-like spacing to something like this. There's a lot of freedom in spacing letters as wide apart as this, and it's good fun!

The quotation is from F.W.Tamblyn but the writing style isn't.

So flowing and beautiful. Spencerian, it really is the pinnacle of handwriting isn't it?
