Kind Critique / 2 weeks in...

Hi all,

I posted my first practice sheets last week - these sheets are two weeks in. I am using Erica's videos and I love watching her draw the letters and trying to emulate that. I think the videos are the most helpful to me so far.

I am working on my slant. These are done without guides - I really need a lightbox because drawing guides on the page every time is a pain! I can print them out on copy paper and use that, but I LOVE my rhodia pad.

I am open to any ideas/feedback you have to help me improve!

Kind Critique / My first practice sheets

So I started calligraphy on Tuesday, so this is two nights of practice.  So times I'm happy with it, but they just seem like flukes.

I know I have to keep working for consistiency. I haven't practiced tracing letters yet because I haven't been able to figure out a light table (I have an idea though with using an acrylic tray.)

Have you all started by tracing letters? I don't want to form any bad habits by not getting my angles down properly...

Introductions / Hello From Western MA

Hello!!!!

I am excited to be here as I am starting my calligraphy journey!

I hope to be able to address my own wedding invites in a few months.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I've always wanted to learn calligraphy, this is just giving me an excuse to do so!

I hope to learn a lot about you all and calligraphy on this site and hopefully get some practice in with some penpals!!
