What was the turning point for your calligraphy practice? In other words, what inspired you -- whether an event, a person, a new set of tools -- to take it to the next level?

For me, taking a workshop with my dear friend Stephanie Fishwick (http://www.stephaniefishwick.com) was really inspiring and pushed me to stop being so lazy with my writing. Finally finding great supplies from Paper & Ink Arts -- instead of messing around with whatever I could find at Michael's, ugh -- was also a real boost up in my practice.

Finding this forum has been motivational to me, and I am realizing how much work I really need to do and how often I need to practice! Thank you all for sharing your work and ideas.

So, I'm curious to hear from all of you. What inspired you to take your calligraphy practice to the next level?

Letter Pixels / Any Squarespace users?

About a year ago, I transitioned my calligraphy site from Wordpress to Squarespace. (My site is www.bluestockingpen.com.) On the whole, I've been quite happy with Squarespace, although some things about it are not quite as intuitive. Squarespace is designed with the visual artist in mind, and presumes that you have zero coding knowledge, but sometimes, I've found that's what makes it cryptic.

Does anyone else here use Squarespace for their site? If so, are there certain tips or tricks that you've picked up along the way?

I'm happy to have discovered this forum, as I often feel like I have many specific calligraphy questions to ask and few personal resources.

I have been practicing calligraphy as a side business for a few years now, and I'm always trying to learn more and improve my craft. My website is www.bluestockingpen.com.

I look forward to learning from you all!
