I haven't used my 303 in a while. I remember they weren't too cooperative when I was starting out, probably because I was still getting used to writing. I shall give them a try again soon.

I remove my nibs and clean them and the flange after every use, making sure to dry both completely. I'm just wary of rust I and the climate here is so humid.

Hi Ryan,

For oblique holders, I recommend the PIA hourglass adjustable. It's reasonably-priced and you're able to fit a variety of nibs into it. And from what I see of your list of nibs, you'll want a holder that allows you to do that. An alternative to the PIA would be the the Blackwell holder form John Neal, which also allows you to fit different sized nibs into the holder.

Of the nibs you've listed for pointed pen, I like the Nikko G, Brause 66EF, Hunt 101, Leonardt Principal EF and the Esterbrook 357.

My favourite ink is Walnut Ink. Moon Palace sumi is great as well. Colored inks - try the new Richtone inks from John Neal. Ziller is great as well. For shiney inks, i like PH Martin's Iridescent inks.

Gum arabic - i use the liquid one. Works fine for me with just a couple of drops each solution

Dinky dips or dappen dishes - I prefer dappen dishes, but dinky dips store well.

I like the pens too. They offer great control being as stiff as they are.

I've found that for finetec colours, they work better slightly wetter than dry. Try adding more water and see if that works for you.

The iridescent inks need to be shaken or stirred before use. Sometimes when the inks get clumpy I use a stirrer to break up the solid mass. I've never added nor diluted the ink. Just stirred. and stirred. and stirred...

flummoxed, I have made up walnut ink from crystals and had them in the bottle for about a year and it's fine. No mould at all.
