I will not turn down sand samples of any kind....although perhaps we should wait until after this corona mayhem. Hope you are all well!

Here are a couple I have of Ontario Canada...so far I have Pelee Island and Kincardine...which is really funny that I do not yet have a sample of lake Ontario given that I live right across the street from the beach...lol Still....the differences between regions are fascinating

Months ago, @Inked botanicals supplied me with not one, but 3 samples, of sand from Spain. Thank you Alba!!! I finally have gotten around to taking the pictures, and the results are beautiful. I thought I would share. To put things into perspective, the entire picture is 5.5 mm wide. The first pic is from Playa del Arbeyal in northern Spain; a natural beach that had a facelift using sand from the bottom of the nearby sea. The second is from Playa de San Lorenzo, which is not far from Arbeyal. The third is from Playa de Poniente, a man-made beach on the East side of Spain. So cool! If anyone else would share some small samples of sand, I would be happy to receive and share the results. :)

Spencerian Script / Re: With nib or brush?

These are beautiful exemplars that I have not seen in a while. I think they were done with a pointed nib, but the shades were re-touched after to look as distinct as they are.

I've noticed a decline in the work that is shared here on the Forum, and Instagram is not innocent in that trend. Maybe now people will starting sharing their work more here. :)

Hi Darrin,

Your craftsmanship, both boxes and pens, is refined. 'Timber Elegance' suits your work rather well. I like your logo, although I see Erica's point. The T definitely looks like an 'F', but if you change the weight and length of that entry stroke on the E that should help. Adding a leaf element might bring it back to the wood theme. Similarly, instead of blue, what if your colour scheme were more organic; i.e, a 'tree' palette of green and brown might help with the theme as well. But, if Erica is willing to give it a go you are in excellent hands! I am excited for you.

One last suggestion: maximize your business card. When I did mine, I invested in double-sided printing and included a flourished example on the other side. You could include a pic of one of your pens (or something)

I will definitely be coming to visit you at Scriptus in October, to check out your final product. ;)
