Welcome to the forum, Rivers!  I'm glad you are using your time off of traveling to learn calligraphy, etc.! Having cancelled all of my travel plans this year, I miss traveling terribly, but I also have finally finished some online classes I signed up for ages ago.  The silver lining! ;) Enjoy!

Wow, what a find, Erica!  Pat Blair's class is tempting.  I enjoy her teaching style.

Tools & Supplies / Re: Is walnut ink really that special
« on: October 01, 2020, 07:34:21 PM »
I love walnut ink!!!  I typically practice with it, sometimes draw and paint with it, and often send an envelope off using it for addressing.  I love the flow, the color, the fact that it doesn't gunk up your nib or eat it, and you can get fabulous hairlines with it.  As Teresa mentioned, it is beautiful with iridescent medium - ditto with a little gold or silver finetec, like in this photo from one of my IG stories.  I often add it to gold gouache as well, when I'm using gouache for ink - depending on the brand, it can warm it up nicely!  As you can see, it is very versatile.  I like using crystals (I have some from John Neal) so I can control the intensity.

There is not one mundane thing about this incredible piece.  Absolutely amazing!

That is amazing, Erica!  The need is still so great - who'd have thunk....

List 2, I am terribly late on my exchange, and am so so sorry.  I have been spending the majority of my free time sewing PPE masks for the local "Masketeers" to donate, and my studio has nearly been converted to a sewing room.  It has been hard to make the switch back to creative work, but I do need to get some done this week, and will also be completing this exchange.  Many apologies!!
