I purchased a Artograph  lighttracer from Hobby Lobby today. Has a slight angle. With 40% coupon seemed like a steal. Cant wait to try it out.

I have used this nip several weeks. Its been primed. I do have two differnet inks. Liquitex and Higgins.
I think it may happen more with Higgins because i use it more. I have not tried a new nib. I may try and add a few drops of water to my cup see if that helps. I did not know ink could go bad.

Tools & Supplies / ink pooling up on back of the nib
« on: February 20, 2014, 05:12:22 PM »
Sorry if this has been address before. I searched and nothing come up. I use Tachikawa G nibs and sometimes after a dip there is an excess of ink on the backside of the nib. Almost like a lump if you looked at it sideways. When I put pen to paper it pools down more than it should. It does not always do this but when it does its like I cant get it to stop. What would cause this and how do I fix it?

I love Paul Antonio's work. In fact one of my favorites. He is very kind and will always give you advice
If you ask. As far as the oblique vs straight holder i guess there will always be a debate. I ask iampeth and was told "I should be using an oblique holder for all pointed pen, script,Spencerian, Ornamental, etc. You should use a straight holder for business penmanship and for flourishing". So that is what I have been doing.
