The nerve "fancy.  almost good enough for a wedding"

Have them come over and "try" to write fancy like that.

I received your's yesterday! Love the gold. Thanks!

Hi, Joi,
"almost" good enough?  Really?  I agree, Amy, let them try this at home!  :)

Hoi I was just remembering the other day your introduction thread and your goal to address your own Christmas cards. Is it weird that I'm proud of you LOL? I guess super happy for you is less weird to say. You calligraphy is undeniably elegant and you are one of the most generous and kind people over ever "met". It isn't any wonder that success has followed you.

Also I DIED at the "almost good enough for a wedding" comment! When my husband told his sister that I had an Etsy shop addressing wedding invitations she said, "People actually pay for that?" Lol!

"ALMOST good enough for a wedding!?"

Joi, you need to start carrying a big stick with a nail in it, I think ...

Coming late to the party but just wanted to say thank you Nickki! Loved your comment. HUGS to you!  :-*

And those comments! Geesh! I wish people would *think* before they speak! LOL! But seriously Joi, they have no idea. Your calligraphy is gorgeous and the envelopes I've seen on your IG are amazing!  :)
Warm Regards,

best reactions so far from recipients of our family holiday cards (the majority of these people don't have any idea what i've been up to this year):

"holy sh*t you have really nice handwriting"
"where did you get them printed I like the font"
"did the person who did these know they were for christmas cards and not a wedding?"
and my fav:
"fancy.  almost good enough for a wedding"
Bummer. I imagine the last two kinda hurt. What's with people :( *hugglesnuggle*

actually not, i got a good laugh.  we just have to remember that not everyone appreciates what we do, and that's ok.  it's all good...i'm totally happy with doing all these holiday envelopes and cards because it's a smack in the forehead at just all that i have accomplished this year!
love you natascha!!!

Such a beautiful post Joi. I agree with Schin, your works seems like you have been doing it for years. Always love your post. Thank you for your generosity for giving me input as well. Keep writing and creating, Joi.

I'm such a fangirl (and I've NEVER been a fangirl...seriously, not even over Justin Timberlake, John Mayer OR Adam Levine!) and it only gets worse with every instagram/forum post you make.

One of my calligraphy goals (right under "learn calligraphy") continues to be to learn enough to feel comfortable sending something to you.  I've been a little derailed because life happens, but one day...

andddd I totally have the envelope and quote you sent me this summer up in my office and stare at them all the time.

You're amazing--in talent and heart--and deserve ALL OF IT.
xo,
Jess

Congrats joi on your goal.  You are truly awesome and I'll beat your record I have started 2 months from now I think.  I'll break your record of 11 months with your help  ;)
With regards
