Hi, my name is Barb, a midwife and a compulsive calligrapher! I love pens, ink, and have been practicing writing for as long as I can remember, starting with The quick brown fox...! It was only recently that I've gotten into pointed pen, through Lindsey Bugbee's wonderful website, and once I had bought the pen, nibs and ink - I couldnt get the darn thing to write! I contacted Lindsey, and with her patience and guidance I was away. I really enjoy doing mail art, as it's a great way to show off my confidence with the dip pen (with the odd envelope having to be binned due to bleeding out!).
I have discovered the Crush calligraphy magazine and just adored it - so much inspiration. I'm not sure how you find the time with working, probably family, and all the other things life throws, but the writing is my 'quiet time' and I love it!
