Title: Burgundy ink
Post by: JanisTX on June 23, 2019, 04:19:12 PM
Iím looking for a recommendation for burgundy ink. I have ordered 2 different brands of gouache, & they are on the way. I have Noodlerís Saguard Wine, but it has too much purple in it. Can anyone recommend a burgundy ink or gouache?

Thanks in advance!

Janis

While of course it'd be nice to not have to mix a color, if you need to, I recently mixed M. Graham's Alizarin Crimson + W&N's Perylene Violet to get a burgundy.  I added some bleed proof white since it was quite dark.

I have Three Oysters' Red Wine in a pen right now, and it looks like burgundy to me.

Thank you, all! Noodlerís Black Swan proved to be the best match!
