Show & Tell / identity display (for advertising)
« on: August 16, 2019, 09:45:47 AM »
I did a version of this pencii drawing around 40 years ago. I used it for while in advertising but dropped it when I realised than some viewers were thinking that it was  for real! Recently, I did this fresh drawing, updating it for the passage of time and I started using it again .

I fact, I'm no monk. I've been married for 56 years with two children and four grandchildren!

The writing is in the Roundhand (Copperplate) style of the 18th century English Writing Masters.

Although they are both written with a flexible nib, Copperplate (English Roundhand) and Spencerian are in fact quite different, both in execution and in appearance.

I'd like to draw attention to this beautiful collection of calligraphy - both the lettering and the decoration - quite exceptional.
