« on: August 02, 2016, 08:03:47 AM »
My goodness, i've been away from the forum for too long and i come back to this function i've been secretly expecting  ;) Thanks you SO much Eric @Erica McPhee you rock INDEED!!

Oh mon Dieu ! as we put it in French! Now you are a bit busy, aren't you?  ;) I certainly feel you on the how-am-i-going-to-manage-it-all and you'll be in my thoughts these next days, but as wisely said before, try and save even just a few moments each day to yourself and don't you worry about us, we'll be there patiently waiting for you to come back. I wish i could help more practically, though!

Tu m'as trop fait rire !! Je lisais en me disant que c'était forcément toi, bienvenue ici!

I was all giggles being mentioned in Kaja's fun intro. And i'm with her when she says we're a bit lonely on our side of the pond! Calling all members of the FF, won't you all hop on a plane and come to us, pretty please??  ;)

Valerie, I cannot say no to you after you posted photos of your exquisite wedding invitation.   ;D

I missed your answer and i'm speechless... C'est juste magnifique  ;D I just admire what you do, really, and I'm so sad i can't come attend one of your workshops because i would so much like to see these in person and of course and most of all have the pleasure to meet you! When i was younger i have worked as a "fabrication assistant" to my sister, which means we were responsible for every printed stuff that came out the doors of the company we worked for. Later on, i started working in an advertising agency and was once again responsible for printing. No digital printing at the time (25 years ago) and this is when i saw my first (huuuuge) offset press. Unfortunately in big advertising agencies we don't do letterpress... But up to the present days, i've been loving all forms of printing and this has become one of my areas of "expertise" in my current job  ;)

@Moya I told you so on IG but i'm telling you again: this is gorgeous and you sure may be proud of how your lettering graces this piece!

Thank you all for your input! I've been doing some research on the Internet and found a few pretty interesting things. I must organize the stuff because most of it is way too difficult for a first, but i should use some more "foundational" flourishes for the class. I'm getting more excited about it as the day comes nearer  ;)

My dear Bianca, i hope you remove "maybe" from your last sentence so that'll leave us with "I'll post a photo"  :D

This is terrible news! I'm so sorry for her and for your family and i do hope she gets better soon. I'm new to calligraphy just as she is and a new member of the forum, but i'd be only too glad to join my fellow members and send Carina well wishes from across the ocean.

Bon courage à vous et à Carina,

Well, will show this to my husband who's constantly moaning and groaning about these (hmm, censured) cats  ;D They have never (until now...) been known to make such an awful mess, nice little things  ;)

I hadn't seen this topic but... 1)i have this book 2)i do read French  ;) and 3) i can show/translate some pages if someone would need more info. Just ask!  ;D

ETA: Thanks Joi for your thoughts about this book!  :)
