Today it warmed up to 16 F here in Illinois and I actually was able to walk the dog after two weeks of the polar vortex below 0 F wind chills. Her poor paws and my cheeks can't handle under 15 F.

Introductions / Re: Dip pen for drawing (Brause Rose)
« on: January 03, 2018, 10:15:05 PM »
Hello Marvin, you have mad drawing skills with the BR. I agree with Erica. I only love the Brause Rose because of the actual rose on the nib. Have you tried a Nikko G? I love to use that nib for drawing.

It was great to meet some Flourish family in Louisville. Ev and Anam were so nice and as if we have been friends for years or something. It was nice to see Chantelle and Christina again too! I hope everyone had a great time.

Spencerian Script / Re: Spencerian Signatures We Like

Nice. What nib did you use? I feel like the 303 can only get shades that thick.

I am moving and almost on summer break, so I can post one soon.

Thanks for the info. I am moving soon, so it's something to think about.

I would love everyone to create a pangram with your name, city, or trait to share. I prefer to practice writing them, so it would be nice to have some that reminded me of my calligraphy friends and FF family.  I will compile a list of the creative original pangrams that we make. I will create a list here and add posted ones. I am still working on one from me, but I came up with one for the FF. You can always write yours in ink too.

FYI: A Pangram is a sentence using every letter of a given alphabet at least once, e.g. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

List:

Tools & Supplies / Re: Problems diluting BleedProof White
« on: November 10, 2016, 10:55:33 PM »
I use the screw-on-top dinky dips from John Neal and mix a small amount at a time of the bleed proof with water. I like to dip and not use a brush for my ink.

I just returned from paying to get muscle knots massaged out of my back from poor posture. I used to do wedding work, i.e. Lots of envelopes per day and I guess my posture wasn't the best. I finally started to sit up and stretch, but it was too late for the knots. So now I pay a massage therapist to help knead them. Just be careful and take breaks. Don't fatigue and move slow.
