I'm here. I saw that offhand signature. Uploading my attempt right now. (it's ugly, so don't hold your breath)

Hi @himasf

One question on the grip of the pen and its a straight holder. Is this how you are supposed to hold it when writing Ornamental script or lot of flourishing and why not an oblique holder? Sorry if they sound silly :(

This grip is for offhand flourishing. It can be done with an oblique & regular grip too but you'd have to draw the letters in reverse for the shades to land in the right places.

Flourishing hand simply means holding the pen in such a way that the shades are made when the pen is moving away from you, as opposed to making the shades while pulling the pen towards you (which is the way most people write). Traditionally, flourishes were made with a straight pen, but you could use an oblique pen if it suits you.
The result of this hand is that the shades appear on the "opposite" parts of the letters. As you see from this page from Spencerian Script and Ornamental Penmanship by Michael Sull, both majuscules and miniscules can be made with this hand, "reversing" the shades.
Flourishing hand can be imitated also by drawing the letters in monoline first and then adding the shades or, as himasf mentions, drawing the letters backwards (ie. from the traditional end to the traditional begining).

No, I'm not on IG (or Facebook)--I just don't have the time to maintain a presence on these sites, although from time to time I do look at IG sites of forum members if they provide a link.
