Thanks a lot for the warm welcome, Ashok!

It really took me a lot of thinking and discernment to be able to quit my job and push through with designing and arts.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. It means a lot.

I'll try my best to show my work and not be shy.  ;D

A very warm welcome Divine.
It takes a lot of courage to leave your settled job and choose what you always wished for. And you didn't stop there. WOW! I cant even think about it. That proves that you are not a shy but a very brave determined person.

Everyone on this forum are very kind and co-operative and will only try to make you better.
So now lets see some of your amazing art :D

Thanks a lot, Sarah!!

I believe that, too... that all we need is to practice. Practice will really make us better!

Ingat! (That's Filipino for "Take care!")

See you around. :)

Welcome Divine!

There's no need to be shy, everyone on here seem very encouraging  :). It's very inspiring seeing other people's work - I'm a complete newbie and know I just need to practise practise practise!

Take care

Introductions / Mabuhay from the Philippines!
« on: September 06, 2016, 12:05:24 AM »
Hi everyone!
My name is Divine. I live in south of Metro Manila in the Philippines. I'm currently 27 years old. I am an IT graduate and worked as a Systems Engineer for one of the top fast food chains here in the Philippines (Jollibee!). But I felt something was missing in my life. When I was younger, I tried to indulge myself in design and arts. Enrolling in art classes and even music classes (played the piano and violin!). I quit my job on February 2014 and enrolled in a continuing course. I graduated this time with an Associate's Degree in Web Design and Animation.

I started learning modern calligraphy last year, May 2015, through a class held by Icka Santos (@ickagraphs in IG). I continued to learn brush calligraphy thru her as well. I'm a very shy artist. I don't show my works that much. I am easily intimadated by other artists (because they're all so good!!! :D). I'm trying my best to overcome my fear and just put myself out there. I'll be working on it starting now. (Introducing myself here is even nerve-wracking for me. This post has been sitting overnight here. Hahaha!)

Excited to learn more in this forum and meet other artists!

Mabuhay!
