Hi - my name is Sue.

I have fiddled around with lettering and calligraphy for my own entertainment since I was in primary school.  As a kid my favourite book club purchase ever was "The Lettering Book" - the one with the blue cover and white spiral binding.

I have declared 2015 to be the year I try to practice in some kind of regular, dedicated manner - just to see how much I can improve with focussed practice.

I am very pleased to have found such a friendly, well managed and information rich forum.  Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Whereabouts are you based? Do you need any info on where the good calligraphy shops/workshops/meetups/conferences live?  I can help if it's Brisbane or Melbourne ;) ... anywhere else, I got nothin'.

Thanks Moya.  I'm in Brisbane so I'll keep in mind to ask you if I'm looking for info.  Hope that if you do find and revisit the lettering book that it holds up to your memories of it!!  I had two books when I was in school - one was a more formal one, and the other was that one - which seemed very funky and new and interesting to me at the time!
