A certificate from the papal states: exceptional penmanship
« on: November 01, 2015, 03:13:52 PM »
In 1848 the Kingdom of Italy did not yet exist and Ferrara lay under the dominion of the Papal states. This document is a certificate and it has something to do with one Pacifico Orlandini, who was a doctor.

From my experience of looking at 19th century documents, the penmanship here is exceptionally good.

I am quite in love with that capital P in the bottom photo.  And I just had to smile at the ink splatters!

This is fabulous - thanks for sharing.
