Welcome! I'm a newbie too. I've really liked Eleanor Winter's book!

I've found that with practicing, its easier for me to sit at a desk/table. There's no way I would be able to use a lap desk and get good writing. I thought about using a TV tray table that I have and sitting on the couch, but I'm pretty sure its not large enough for me to keep my ink on it. I'd totally spill ink everywhere. I also found out pretty quickly that posture is pretty important. I like to bend over when I'm writing and it didn't take long before my neck was killing me.

Hi there!

I'm a young professional in Boston, and recently decided to try my hand at calligraphy! I'm an absolute newbie currently trying to get my feet wet with Copperplate and am so glad I came across this forum. I'm really looking forward to continuing this journey .
