Good exemplars for flourished Copperplate capitals
« on: February 29, 2016, 05:52:38 AM »
I'm trying to learn to make more elaborately flourished capitals and also variations for flourishing of ascenders and descenders. Does anyone know of any great exemplars?

I've seen examples of people following a Valliciergo examplar but can't find a high-res version anywhere of this. It's quite beautiful. The first example I've attached is from a font based on Valliciergo's work and the second is a super low res version from an auction site.

And clicking on the arrow in the bottom right corner, you can download it at up to 4752 x 3472 px.

Thanks for sharing! This scanned book is really gorgeous! Maybe not many people have seen this before because it's not an English book. :D

Nabeelah and Fennec,

This is a great find, for me. I enjoy viewing exemplar's and the Valliciergo majuscule exemplar is beautiful  :)
