Bloody Nibs!

I just cut my finger on my nib...is that normal or am i alone on this?

I have definitely done this!!! Constantly stabbing my hand on them, poking my arm ... I cut a deep slice in one finger once with a Nikko G, pulling it out of a stubborn holder.  Calligraphy injuries: more common than you'd think

I sliced my finger on a crowquill once. I was using vermillion ink at the time. It took me some time to realize it was blood and not vermillion ink flowing out of my cut.

Moya, thats kinda what happened to me! I was cleaning the ink off and thankfully dident end up bleading, but i did end up slicing my finger.
Sue, i really hope you cleaned that cut out good.  And that you weren't signing a contract for a bridezilla!

You are not alone! I cut myself trying to pull out a nib once. I've been more careful since then (still get nicked sometimes though)!

You know, I don't think I have!  Accidentally tattooed myself, yes, but no cuts thus far, touch wood.

You are not alone! I cut myself trying to pull out a nib once. I've been more careful since then (still get nicked sometimes though)!

I do that alot....

I wrap the nib with tissue (toilet paper or Klenex) when I am removing/installing a nib.
And I try to stay away from the pointy end.

The more important question here is ... what were you trying to sign when bloodying your nib?  I'd rethink that!
