Hi! I'm married to copperplate but have been neglecting her lately, am flirting with modern, unicials and foundational hand.

Yay! Stationery addicts unite!

Gorgeous pieces so far! I've loved stationery since I was young and it hasn't got away with age.

This was my haul when I went to Melodies Graphiques in Paris, still haven't used the notecards, they're too pretty and special!

Most recently for Christmas I was lucky enough to get a duo of Rifle Paper Co notebooks which are sitting pretty until I can find a justifiable use for them.

Last month I got a Lamy Al-star Pacific Blue, it's so beautiful and the first fountain pen where I've not had any issues with ink flow.

Find a Pen Pal / Looking for penpal
« on: April 12, 2017, 12:56:12 PM »
Hi I'm Sarah, 34. I live in England with my Husband.

I'm after a pen pal to chat with also I'm trying to motivate myself to do more calligraphy (had a bit of a lull lately so it's a good excuse to stop slacking!).

My interests are calligraphy (obvs), film, music, collecting pretty stationery, reading and traveling (when I have the pennies).

Anyone up for it?

Digital Design / Graphics tablet recommendations
« on: January 29, 2017, 08:30:32 AM »
Hi everyone!

I'm looking to buy a graphics tablet to help with digitising my calligraphy, Wacom is my preferred choice, does anyone have any recommendations? I've looked into the different Wacom models but get confused as I can't figure out which would be best for what I want to use it for!

Also which programmes/software would you recommend?

Thank you
Sarah

Hi and welcome! I'm also from the UK.

You can find your local calligraphy guilds via this link :

Hope that helps!

Ooh I am definitely with a lot of you with the dirty water.

Even though I love calligraphy I am rubbish at art or painting or anything like that, I'm a one trick pony. Trying hard to improve on this though.

I don't like using black ink I don't know why but it always ends up getting  EVERYWHERE!

My 'desk' is a folding camping table.

Currently one large box, one medium box, two small boxes and a six drawer storage unit are just about holding my calligraphy supplies, I'm not even much of a hoarder I sort through it all regularly! Is anyone else's supplies getting out of control?

Stick to the tools that work for you, don't underestimate the importance of drills and practice and don't be so hard on yourself. Hope that helps.
