All of these kitty and puppy pictures are seriously cutting into my afternoon! If I were more disciplined, I'd just look away. Alas, I'm a sucker for a pretty furry face

I'd love to join! I'll add pictures of my cats in a bit. They're both super friendly with people and dogs, but always slow to warm up with other cats. The socialization here will be good for them. We're getting together with all of the felines and one honorary canine once a week, right?

Spencerian Script / Happy mail day!

The mail was just delivered, and I'm so excited! I've been trying to practice Spencerian with a regular fountain pen and the Spencerian Theory & Copybooks. I'm seeing improvement, and practicing with what I have is better than nothing, but really not satisfying at all.

As of today I have my new Peerless oblique holder, 5 Nikko G nibs and for fun, the Ames Compendium. I bought ink locally a few weeks ago, and can't wait to get some ink on a new nib. When I'm able to see some noticeable improvement I plan to buy a good holder. I quit my job about 3 years ago and have time to practice, so I hope to devote some quality time to work on Spencerian every day.

I don't have a separate room to set up a workstation in. I do have a desk in the dining room, which is against a south wall. It's currently fairly covered with art supplies, Bose speakers, fountain pen case, a few odds and ends. I think I'll try to make it workable for practice (just starting to learn Spencerian), and find something portable and cool looking to keep supplies in. One nice thing is that I have wall space to hang exemplars. Bad thing is that there isn't a window nearby for natural light.

I love seeing all of your workspaces. I'm definitely inspired!

I'm so SO excited! I can't wait for the first issue. I definitely plan to subscribe to the print version. Will Spencerian Script be featured as well as other forms of calligraphy?

Erica, I'm totally in awe of your work, both what you create on paper and the lettering community ventures that you've provided for all of us. Amazing!
