I never take mine out either until it is worn out. Sometimes it’s a bit rusty, sometimes not. I try to just flame the writing part when I prepare the nib so as not to remove the coating from the whole nib. And I am careful to not dip the whole nib and flange in water when I clean it. This helps keep it from getting too bad.  :-*

@K-2  You are amazing! Such a great writer. I no longer try to pour ink into dinky dips and instead use a dropper. That way I never have to let go of the open ink bottle.  :)

Wow - excellent reviews! Thank you @K-2 for such an in depth review. And everyone else for great additions. I typically stick to walnut and don’t stray too far into colors or sparkle. I splurged on two bottles of Ferris Wheel Press and oh my - they are delicious! Not just beautiful color but the way they write - so smooth! And the bottles are so luxurious with their rubber stoppers. They asked me to be an ambassador on Instagram awhile back and I ran out of time.   :-\

I always decant my ink into dinky dips so it’s never been a deal breaker for me.

Having the prices broken down like that is so helpful, too! And your lovely examples. A million thank yous!

Hand Lettering / Hand Lettering Anyone?
« on: May 10, 2024, 06:37:17 PM »
I recently had a lovely email from someone asking if we talked about Hand Lettering here on Flourish. I was surprised to look at our boards and see it was a topic that has been overlooked all these years! Hand lettering is different from calligraphy and has really become more popular the past decade or so. I hope we have some hand lettering artists who will pop in and share some work and ideas or anything!  :-*

Thanks Bianca! This is the first time we have had lots of flowering things in our landscaping. I love it! There are some that do well in shade. I think hydrangeas like a combo.  :-*

Beautiful calligraphy! I tried alligator once. It was gross. It looked like chicken but was chewy and rubbery with not much flavor.  :-\

Thanks so much @Ken Fraser ! @K-2— I remember those days. But it’s always so amazing how quickly the green sprouts out!  :-*
